Best moveset for Lapras

Lapras’s strongest moveset is Water Gun & Surf and it has a Max CP of 2,641 when attacking Pokémon in Gyms. This alone move has the highest total DPS and is also the best moveset for PVP battles.

Lapras equipped 277 Stamina and it can basically be a damage sponge, even though its 174 Defense isn’t exactly stunning. Lapras can be a good pokemon for PvP with its humongous energy stat.

Such stamina helps Lapras to keep active for long periods of time without down charge moves capability.

Which moves should trainers use with this Kanto Pokemon?

Lapras Pokemon will require some work to make strongest. You can use two best potential moveset, so hopefully trainers have some extra Elite TMs existing.

Ice Shard

The first legacy move is Ice Shard and taught to Lapras, from Lapras’ Raid Day. Although it’s a bit slow (1.5 seconds in PvP), Ice Shard charges more power than Frost Breath and Water Gun.

Frost Breath is more powerful (inflicts 1.3 DPS higher) for damaging which makes it best for an Ice-type attacking Lapras. There are much other good choices for that role than Lapras, which only has 165 base hit.

Ice Beam

The other legacy move is the charge move Ice Beam, also from Lapras’ Raid Day. This move is a lot best at bringing out fears like Togekiss, Giratina, Garchomp and similar Pokemon.

The Ice Shard provides better energy returns, and Surf is Lapras’ perfect Water-type Charge Move which can provide a higher damage Ice-type option for taking down the oft-seen Dragon-types.

Regarding secondary Charge Moves, most trainers prefer either Ice Beam or Skull Bash. Skull Bash is the ideal neutral-damage option that Lapras has available.

Trainers would be required to run Blizzard without an Elite Charge TM. It will be hard for even a Pokemon as tanky as Lapras to use it consistently with an energy cost of 75. Ice Beam much more reliable option with having 90 power.

Lapras Pokemon will want a move with a lower energy cost to bait shields and threats opposition speedily. At 65 base powers, Surf won’t be one tackle KOing Pokemon, but it will still do enough damage.

Location

Lapras can be available in the Lake of Outrage and North Lake Miloch areas of the map with levels of 56 or 60, depending on players’ level in the game.

A popular Water/Ice-type Pokemon creating from Generation I, Lapras can pull in Pokemon GO battles.

With its moveset and significant HP stats, Lapras is a huge pick in Great and Ultra League in Pokemon GO. It reduces somewhat in Master League due to its stat limits, but Lapras has plenty to offer players which are willing to decant resources into it.

Lapras is the first choice in PvE environments such as Team GO Rocket battles or gym raids because it shines the most in PvP sites with the right team. Lapras can hold many trainers to victory in PvP battles.

Lapras will like to moves that match its comfortless to utilize the Same Type Attack Bonuses(STAB), which expands its damage. Keeping a neutral-damage alternative is also a practicable pick when it comes to outfitting Lapras.

Is Lapras worth the considerable investments?

I will not recommend investing in Lapras. The best moveset does contain some moves from Pokemon GO that are known as Legacy Moves which makes it more challenging to attain.

Fortunately, Lapras resources may change as more Pokemon are released, and Niantic decides to tweak several moves. For now, Lapras is the best option for a Great or Ultra League team.

Animals

Lapras is a large sea creature Transport Pokémon which resembles a plesiosaur. It may also be inspired by placodonts. It has four flippers, however its front are notably fatty than its back flippers. It has huge black eyes and a long neck.

Evolutions

This Pokémon does not evolve. It is unknown to evolve into or from any other Pokémon, Lapras has a Gigantamax form.
